more questions about ich

My Angel fish has another white spot and I see one starting on the fin of the other Angel and on one platy. does it spread quickly or slowly? I am really not sure if its ich or not as I have seen it but in much worse stage but I want to treat it quickly. What does a fungal infection look like and does that spread to other fish?

Is there a chance to treat it too quickly or the quicker the better? Also, does it turn your water blue? Then do you have to do water changes again? how do you know when its over?

I also read someone saying

that you could get rid of ich with aquarium salt and a temp change. Is this true and if so, how much aquarium salt do you add to a 30 gal tank? With aquarium salt (if this is correct treatment) Do you still remove the filter?

it does help if u turn the temp up yes but do it slowly 80-82 its beter 2 treat it striaght away and is fast catching it doesnt turn the water blue i dont about salt.

I dont know what you have in your tank, but I had good succes with turning the temp up to 84F and adding some extra salt, and I used Coppersafe, although there are plenty of other kinds of medication.

One important thing is to do frequent water changes. This helps remove the ich that is maturing and hatching at the bottom of the tank, in the gravel. Getting rid of most of these will help eliminate and decrease the amount of ich that will turn free floating and attach onto your fishies

it turned the water blue. The guy at the fish store said it sounds like some kind of fungus but then another person at the store said it sounded like ich. I give up!! My husband got the ich stuff and put it in and now we have blue water but thats ok. It's pretty.

We had terrible water before and had to do 5 water changes 30 -50 percent. The tank when we had the terrible water was crystal clear and no fungus or ich or anything and now that we did the changes, we are seeing cloudy water and sick fish. We were careful about the water changes. Maybe I should not let my husband do it and I should do it cause whenever he does the changes, something happens. I know that sounds terrible but if the shoe fits?????*crazysmil *

Well

I don't think its ich. I think its fungus. It now looks like cottoney stuff. I got some fungus tabs to put in the tank and am doing another water change.
