I just noticed this same thing on one of my Rasboras. Not sure what it is yet. The fish is swimming happily and eating, and happens to be the "leader" of the pack. It might look cotton-like or furry. This one is very active, and it is hard to get a good look at him.

Well, mine is a full case of ich. After I noticed it and posted here, I walked up to the LFS to see how much aquarium salt was (no major amount of salt in the house!). Lo and behold, the two remaining german rams from the batch I bought from on Thursday were peppered with ich. Bought some salt and quickly walked home. In the course of three hours, two rasboras, three neons, and two of the three rams have spots.

I dissolved 30 tablespoons of salt (3 per 5 gallons, for 50 gallons) and raised the temp to 82. I didn't want to go with chemical treatments that would hurt the cories and neons, and I didn't want to stain anything in the tank.

How long should I give the salt before punting back and getting a chemical treatment? And if so, what treatment should I get based on my stock list?
