Check out the fish in my tanks in my signature. You'll see that I have two cories in my 10 gal. I would really like to move them to my 29 gal. The main reason for this is that, currently they reside with goldfish, now these are hungry fish, it would seem that the cories arent getting much food in the 10 gal. Even when I put sinking shrimp pellets in the goldies get to them first. In the 29 gal. there is always food that makes its way to the bottom, so it seems to make sense to move them there. My main concern is that they may not get along with the other bottom feeders in the tank (Pictus cat, CAE and yoyo loach). What do you guys/gals think?

Do your other bottom feeders ever get into tiffs? I would think that if they all pretty much get along with each other you could put the cories in with them. There are a lot of bottom feeders in there....lol how about getting another tank! :D

Lol, I dont think I could keep up with another tank, and no place for one. The CAE occasionaly goes after the pictus but thats it, and nothing major. I think the fish would be okay, but I just want to make sure. Im sure I once read something about not keeping yo-yo loaches and cories together, but I could be mistaken. Thankis Froggy =)

If the cories arent getting much food I would move them. I had the same problem in my 6 gallon with my aquatic frogs and female bettas. Everytime I put in a sinking pellet for my frog the bettas would always get it first and push it around and it wouldnt get any food at all :( I eventually took him out and put him in another tank though.

i would try switching the corys to your 29 and moving the loach with the goldies.i find that fish have less spats when they are with fish from the same evrivoments.plus your loach can hold it's own againg the goldies unlike corys wich can't hold their own against any fish cause they are too passive(and cute)so put the corys with the pictus and just feed a little extra so that the pictus isn't trying to eat the same pellet as the corys.hope i was of some help

i agree with catfish mike. swap the cories for the yoyo

but c_paan is also correct about the Pictus cat, it might try to eat up those cories when it gets big enough..... the pictus wll eat just about anything it can fit into its mouth.....

but it always depends on a fish's temperment, your Pictus might be a real nice fella who doesnt want to eat his neighbors!

I was going to say swap out the cories for the yo yo as well but wouldn't the same problem of the food not getting down to the bottom still exist? what do yo yo's eat that cories don't and that the goldfish wouldn't be interested in?

Thanks everyone =) From your responses I think I'm going to move them.

On the pictus - They get to be about 6", Mine is almost fully grown at 5.5" and im pritty sure that he couldnt swallow a cory, he once ate a small blood fin tetra, but the larger members of the school that were about the same size as the cories survied, so I think that they will be okay with him. Also quite a few months ago I made a thread asking if the pictus would get along with cories and the outcome was yes, and some said that they kept pictus with cories. So Im not really worried about that, thankyou all for your concern =)

I kinda agree with Dana that if I move the yo-yo to the 10 gal. that then he would be food deprived, and although im sure he could miss a few meals, I couldnt do that to the little fella, hes way nicer than my last one :)
