I dont have any bags to hang the fish in the water for 20mins etc. What is the best way to move my fish across from my old tank to my new tank sat opposite it? Can i just drop them in using the net or will it kill them?
That's what I've always done. As long as your new tank is cycled and the temperature is close to the same (within 1-2 degrees), it shouldn't be a problem unless you have uber-sensitive fish.
I do the samething, never had an issue. The water (PH) is most likely the same as it came from the same place as long as you don't have anthing in the tank to change it (substrate or other deco)
Should be fine, but if you are concerned, you can always use a mason jar or something and fill it with half the water from the old tank, half the water from the new one, and transfer the fish that way . . . .
