I will be moving here within a year or so and I need to know, in the process of moving, what can I do with my biowheel to ensure that the bacteria that keeps my tank clean and my fish happy from dying? Does anyone know or have had a similar experience?

Get a large zip lock bag, rubbermaid container, or something of that nature that will seal, hold water, and be large enough for the bio-wheel. Fill wht ever you got with water from the tank. No new water. Gently remore the bio wheel and place it in the container. Make sure it is completely covered with water. Seal it up. Then keep it in an area that it won't get damaged during the move.

No i have not. Personally the bio wheels annoy me. I don't like a lot of water noise. My friend sweers by them. My whispers have something else for that purpose. I get people in at work all the time that want to do all these crazy things to the bio-wheels. I have had people ask me almost every question you could think of about the bio-wheel. they will be fine as long as it stays wet. That is the key. those bacteria need water to live. remove the water and no more bacteria.
