moving to college question

alright so i got my problems figured out and i'm in the process of fishless cycling my tank w/ ammonia while my babies are at a friends house (all doing wonderful, no casualties resulted from the ammonia spike)
but, hopefully my tank will finish its cycle in 1-2 weeks since i'm moving to college in a little under 3.
my question is, i have a 10 gallon tank with a bio-wheel filter running and i'll be moving 40 minutes to an hour away. since there is no way i can move my 80+ pound tank, how should i do this properly? i'm most afraid of my bio-wheel drying up, but how should i properly pack it so none of the bacteria die? what about the bacteria on the bottom of my tank? (i don't have any substrate) should i leave a couple inches of water at the bottom? i already have plans to jug-up the water i take out so i can let my fish slowly get used to the water at the college with water changes. i need some advice
thanks

To perserve life on the biowheel jsut stick it in a tuperware or ziploc bag, its just gotta stay moist. It shouldnt dry out in an hour unless its near heat. Since u dont have any substrate u dont really have alot of bacteria growth on the bottom of ur tank, u have some on the glass but its very little so if u keep an inche of water it be ok. If u can get some gravel in there for the couple weeks u have so bacteria can seed on it and then keep that gravel moist while u travel and ull preserve plenty of bacteria. HTH
