:( my 15G is DOWN I SAY DOWN! there was a ich out brake in my 15G and i dident put the stuff in on time, and i lost most of the fish, im bummed out. i took the fish that surrvived and put them in my 20G(that was 1 otto and 2 platys). the 15 i took out all the water, and cleaned everything, i am puting the tank back together over this week bacause im on spring brake(one week). so im realy bummed out, bummed out so much:eek::eek::eek:. *SUNSMILE**SUNSMILE* but on the bright side, i have a new filter for the 20G it is the EHEIM Ecco 2232, i love it! it is so quiet! quieter than the aqua ball. so now the 15 has the aqua ball once i clean it out and the 20G had the 2232 from EHEIM. c ya!

The med package said to use salt too? Interesting... like a pinch or two? I assumed you were adding the amount of salt that is normally used to treat ich, which is a bunch. Of course you should follow directions.

I'm curious, now... what is the full name of the product you have? I'd like to look at it online.

My personal method for treating ich is to use CopperSafe. I always quarantine all my fish and treat in the quarantine tank, if necessary. I add 1/4 dose every 4 hours, checking for an adverse reaction. I've not lost a fish to ich since using this method.

ya and i noticed that it can stain some things too
curious how successful salt and heat as a treatment in your experience ?
if and when ick appears i want to be ready
I haven't used meds for ich, but that's because I've only had an outbreak once, and it went away before I could take the time to go buy meds.

All I did was crank up my heat to about 82/84 and within a couple of days, the ich disappeared off of my fish. I left it at that temp for just over a week to make sure the ich was completely dead. Haven't seen it since then.
