Very handsome Rainbow you got there :p I wish someone knew how big these guys really get. Everyone has a different answer. LOL. But I see he looks significantly bigger than your Bolivian there and thats how big I was told they get originally.

I understand what you are talking about. I go by 6 inches for them myself, reason being, mine is just about 6 inches. My bolivians are 3.5 inches, the males anyways. The females are 2.75-3 inches.

Not 100% sure on what you mean, lol. Do you mean the pics are darker? The pics are usually even darker, and when I enhance them in Photoshop, it brightens them up some. I don't like really bright pics, when I take brighter pics with the camera, they don't turn out near as good.

I'm most definatly not saying that they are bad pictures, just commenting on the different style of photography.
It could well be that I'm seeing lots of algae in the background, or poo or something that makes the pictures look that way. I really cant even explain it in my own head :p

The housing thing really depends on their size.
The trio (M,F,F) I got from FishGeek are much smaller than yours, LWB. I'd say the male is maybe pushing around the 3" mark, and the females are probably more like 2.5" (total length) each. At that size, a 20 gal. would do just fine for a breeding pair. Mine still remain quite skittish even in the 38 gal. planted tank though...not sure what that's all about. Perhaps that's just their nature.
