My Albino Catfish

Does anyone know why albino catfish swim quickly to the top of the aquarium and back down to the bottom every now and again?

To get air prolly. Mine does that alot. I think its normal, so theres nothing to worry about.

My albinos do that too. Actually, every cory I have ever had does that. It is normal, but if you see them doing it alot, or staying at the top, then you need to check your water chemistry levels (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate) because you might have a problem.

when the aireation in my tank stops working for whatever reason, they do it several times in 10 minutes. the splashing gets my attention and i fix it.

Like 420loach said "lightning speed". Sometimes mine go to the top at feeding time and eat the bloodworms. Actually my tiger barbs do the same thing, race up to the top and grab a blood worm and back down very fast.

Thats what I remember most about the Cory I had when I was younger. It thought that was the coolest thing. That's why I'll be getting some for my 10 gallon setup.
