4 days ago my hubby came home with 5 mickey mouse platies.

We decided to put them in the 10 gal with our betta.....but we moved everything round 1st so he didnt think " right all this is mine....get lost". Well...you know what I mean.

Any way when I got up the next day one of the platy's was dead.

I removed it. Then I saw the betta attacking one of the platy's.

So I put the platy's in my hubbys community tank.

The betta looked a little sluggish yesterday and was showing signs of fungus, obviously due to the stress.
I put meds in straight away but he died a coulple of hours ago.

Does it always happen so fast? We'd had him a few months and where kind of attached.

Ive decided not to buy any more males as I never have any luck with them despite trying hard and reading up on MFT.

When you add new fish that bring sickness with them it can definitely happen fast. I got a couple of new guppies when I first started, and then less than a week later all of the new ones plus half of my existing tank was dead :(

A lot of bettas just don't like being with other fish...so maybe that was the case with him?
