I moved Cody, my blue Betta, from his bowl to a 7gal aquarium yesterday.

The tank is decorated with a sunken city and the plastic plant from his bowl (he seemed to like it).

I am using a lower pressure air pump into a long airstone along the back wall and an airstone in the sunken city. I also have the waterline above the drop for the filter and the filter is set at it's lowest setting.

After I moved Cody to the tank, he swam around checking things out. After about an hour, he disappeared into a concave portion under the sunken city and I haven't seen him since!

Is this behavior normal? I don't want him to die in there!

I'm planning on buying a different decoration today that has space to hide but not disappear. Any thoughts/suggestions?

you really should investigate this soon, your concave hiding spot might actually be a trap of death! Sometimes the fish can swim up into the hiding place but the space will be to confining and they can'T BACK OUT!

I have lost a clown loac for this very reason.

Depending on the Betta, he might have just found a cool place to hide...but I agree with bill...you need to make sure he didn't get stuck in there. He needs air!
