I have a tank with an angle fish a dwarf gourami, a jumbo neon tetra, and a cory fish. there was a red tailed shark, but he seems to have disappeared. he usually hides inside the handle of the pot, in the volcano, the plants, or the log. i've check all his usual hiding places, around the outside of the tank and int he filter...he's no where to be seen. did the other fish eat him? what the heck happened?

my tank has a lid and i've covered all the holes he could get out of because when i first got him, he would always try to jump out of the tank. that's how i lost my first red tailed shark.

and you haven't seen him out for weeks you say?
likely the other fish have eaten him and his bones are somewhere to be found years later... =[
hope he somehow turns up though.

Sorry you can't find him:( In the mean time, your tank size and mix of fish needs serious rearranging, I'm afraid. If you don't, you may as well get used to losing them one way or another. Your tank is WAY too small for an angel fish. Too small for the shark. Neons need to be kept in groups of 5 or more, which you barely have space for without any other fish. And cory cats should also be kept in groups of 4 or more, which you do have space for if everybody else left.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but its obvious you like your fish, so you'll want to learn more about keeping them properly. This is just the place for it:)

ya thats true, but would they kill a fish?? I realize if he was already dead they'de eat him...I've had so many fish die (for whatever reason) and by morning there was nothing but bones because I had a lot of bottom feeders.

that's exactly what i was saying, sorry for not being clear. I meant if the fish died of water pollution or something the cory would quickly eat it.
cories wont really kill fish lol

the 10 gallon take is only temporary till i can afford to get a larger one, they are all fairly young fish. all about an inch except the shark. the shark only gets to be about 4 inches anyway. i also had more tetras, but they all died and i haven't had time to go get more and didn't want to over crowd my tank till i got a new one. i wish i knew where my shark was. he looked completely healthy, but then just... POOF, he was gone.

I realize, it was just funny thinking of an angle fish....Bassbonediva owns a 45 degree-angled female guppy lol. that's certainly an angle fish.

I just want buddha to cheer up...

k that would be sweet....you know what I've realized??? It's REALLY REALLY hard to take a picture of fish...I mean the Oscar and cichlids aren't so bad bcuz they're arger and dont move as fast, but lil ones, good luck with that (unless it's just my camera, but even on shake mode all my pics come out pretty fuzzy)

yes very difficult...I have my camera on shudder setting, so it takes 10 pics of the scene rapid fire and selects one that has the most clarity. but even with that its difficult. most moving fish come out as blurry.

best way to get a clear shot is either to wait till the fish stops to rest, or at night when they're sleeping still.
