My Goldfish is bent

I left the goldfish alone for a weekend. When I came back in my white goldfish was trapped behind the filter. It is a corner filter, which caused the first to be bent in the middle. When we got him out he was permanantly bent. He is still alive, and kind of trying to swim. Will he survive?

likely not, it probably caused some internal damage as well.

also, what sized tank and how many goldfish do you have...the tank looks small from your photo. Goldfish actually need 20 gallons+ per fish since they grow to ungodly sizes.

check the AqAdvisor link in my sig. Enter your tank information and you will understand.

o yes, I've kept so many goldfish before and they often met their demise in my overpowered filter like that. the remedy is to somehow put a sponge pre-filter on your filter intake. still if your tank is too small, nothing can help your fish but more space. for two fancy goldfish a 30 gal tank is minimum.
you can forget about keeping comet and common goldfish in regular small tanks, those need ponds.
