Hello
I am new to the forum obviously :) figured I would do a little intro for myself and my Tank in progress.

My name is Eric and I have been into aquariums since I was a child, I have learned a lot and have a lot to learn but that is the best part of any hobby.

I have kept Freshwater, Reefs, Invert tanks, and so on.

My recent project after shutting everything down 2 years ago due to newborn baby is a 150 gallon Reef Ready, I plan to set up a fresh water predator tank more than likely. By Predator I am thinking Arrowanna, niger catfish, things of this nature.

The projects:
I will build/make my own sump/filters, two 30 gallons or equivalent rubber maids a few dividers to direct water through the filter media.

The questions I have are about Coralife Turbo Sea Pumps, they seem to be decent pumps for the money, my main concern is the noise. I plan to buy two 1090 gph circulation pumps, they will each feed four outlets, two up to and two near the bottom on each side of the overflow boxes. This will decease the flow from each inlet dramatically producing a nice mellow flow rather than a forcing current.

The other question I had was about Coralife super luft air pumps either 2.9 or 3.9 I plan to do a bubble wall the length of the tank and a few scattered air stones under rock piles here and there. I really don't do artificial ornaments mostly driftwood and rock piles/caves.

Well that's about it for now, I look forward to meeting and getting to know Everyone. I will get some pics of assembly one I get started right now waiting to get all my supplies and equipment together.

Peace
Eric

Welcome to the forum. I don't have the answers you need but I'm also interested to see your progress. Good Luck and I hope to see some pics.

Welcome, it's always good to see an experienced fishkeeper come in with an interesting project at hand. Unfortunately, my finances prevent me from dabbling in sizable projects such as yours, so I have no experience with the kind of pumps you need. However, I sincerely hope that you post up your progress and results, with pics, so that I can live vicariously through your large-tank experiences. ;)

Seriously, though, welcome to the tank. I hope you enjoy being here.
