Lol A watched fish never mates ;)

They're ridiculous that way, I swear. Of my two mbuna tanks, there is one tank with two groups of fish that I'm intentionally trying to breed, and the other tank is a mixed community where I don't want them to breed, because they'll all be hybrids. Guess which tank is the one with breeding fish? ;)

Its not something that just happens.
Ahem...except for in BV's tanks! ;)
But I'm sure we can chalk it up to pure luck, for the most part. Like Jess and Alaina said, just be patient, and they'll do their thing!

The coloring-up you see is definitely a good thing. One sure sign that I've noticed about predicting an impending spawn is if you see the female going into one of the caves repeatedly and sticking her head out of the opening intermittently. This serves as an invitation to the male, who will then join her and do his thing. If you notice the female mostly disappear for a few days...even a week...expect to see some fry swimming around not too long afterwards.

How big are your kribs again, by the way?
