And yes, he has a big tummy, he had it since I got him a few weeks ago. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it, and that picture makes it look WAY worse than it is. Anything that could be causing it?

Could be constipated, there is a thread around here about "overfeeding a betta" with instructions on feeding peas to help.

very pretty. ive been thinking about getting a betta myself if i ever make room.
you know fish can go a couple days without eating. with bettas they only need like 5 little pellets a day at most

Oh, he is beautiful! He reminds me of my Fernando, who also has a big tummy! I have had him almost 2 years and he has had the same tummy the whole time and is as healthy as an Ox! Good luck with your new little fella
