I just got her last night and she is already colored up so beautifully...and chasing the male around the tank! *thumbsups Hopefully I'll have some babies soon.
Nice Kelly!
I've had my female krib for a long time now, and just the other day she decides that shes had enough of her long-term boyfriend and now I cant find the male in the tank AT ALL. I hope he's still alive and I can get him into a q-tank
That's what happened to my last female...a week ago she was dead for no reason. I raised her from a baby . Her brother/boyfriend is suspected in her demise...
Sorry for the hijack, but I thought I'd post it here anyway...
I dug around the tank and found the male. He was PALE almost albino it looked, tattered fins and he had HOLES in his HEAD!!!! My water quality is good so I dont know what could of caused it. He was breathing really hard and even let me catch him easily with my hand. I decided it would be best to euthanize him since I dont have a q-tank set up and I honestly dont think he would of lasted any longer. He was literally withering away
Couldn't stay away from the kribs, could you Kelly? I miss my old krib pair too.
Female looks like she'll be ready to plop down some eggs before too long!
Katie...start your own thread, noob!
j/k...sorry about your male krib, R.I.P.
If the fry survive I usually keep them and trade them in at the pet store for a trade. The most I usually get for them is enough trade for a box of marine salt & a few odds & ends. I have also shipped a few to other MFT members. I've only had a couple batches survive with more than 5-6 babies and I currently have two of them in my tank - the others I have traded in. If I get new fry from this latest pairing I'm gonna do what Katie said - use them as feeders! (For my figure 8 puffers)
