well here it is its a 10g with 4 lbs of live rock so far and 1 clam.. illo be buying more live rock and some sand next week... i get the liverock for about 8 dollars a pound for "premium" and i have a 10g filter and 50w heater

now gobys sometimes pair up with shrimp i thougt i read somewhere... and would this be okay for my 10g tank? just a goby shrimp pair? and some cleaners? oh and should i fill myfilter w liverock?

Looks like its gettin off to a good start, but if i were you iwould get a HOB filter just for more space and a cleaner look. as for the live rock in the filter, i d think it would work since i beleive the LR needs some light to "live" but i could be wrong. Do you have filter media in the filter? because if you do, i have read that you can use filters w/o the media for water movement, but if it is in there, the filter becomes a nitrate factory.

yeah i removed all the media lol and it was 1 third the cost of a power head... and i read somewhere about putting stuff in ur filter... non media mind you and i figured if its wet and stays under the light it wold work pretty well

i now have the enclosure for my diy lighting i got it for free and its gonna be made with nice wood and by a proffesional all i had to do was set up his new mac laptop

i know this doesnt give alot of info but its my light holder made by Creations in Wood inc... i know i still have to stain it and sand a little.. he didnt know what i wanted to do with it...

this is my my 10g nano with sand


well tell me what you guys think... i got 2 light bulb balasts planed on 2 50/50 compact bulbs (20ws each) gonna upgrade to 6 total later...

I think for what you want with the shrimp goby pair the sand is too coarse, and also too shallow - you want at the very least 2 or 3 inches. That's a bit of a limiter in very small tanks.

on friday ill be picking up the bulbs and seing how much light they give off if its not enough im gonna buy 1 more bulb... i will also pry pick up some more live rock and possibly some more sand.. ill have around 150dollars or more to spend

i stole 3 hermits from my friends house when he wasnt lookin lol there all in conch shellls?
ill take some pics tommorrow and post em here.. oh and i get paid tommorrow so expect updates in a few days... i plan on getting a couple snails and some more rock

update update: i got 4 lb peice of live rock it looks really awsome and i got it... wait for it.... for free i think? lol and i didnt get payed today but i did get one bulb... ill be putting the diy light sytem together tommorrow i think and i may get payed tommorrow wich means 1 more bulb and some snails.. wich kind of snails do i need?
