Well my JD went to a new home last week and I picked up a couple of oscars.

Originally I only got one (the bigger of the two), but he would play dead every time I came into the room, so I brought him a buddy (the smaller) to make him feel more comfortable. I chose the big guy because he had almost no orange on him compared to the rest, don't know why but I liked it!

The big guy, (this is the only pic he'd let me take, very camera shy):

The small guy, (he is not shy at all, he is just forever hungry, little pig :p):

The first day I introduced them I walked into the room and they 'died' right on top of each other, their antics were starting to worry me. But now they know where the food comes from (only took 'em two days), they aren't the least bit shy.

Awwww They're cuuute... I remember when mine were that little... well 2 of them, my albino was 4.5" or so when I got him. They do grow FAST... and watch out for that begging, if you feed them every time they beg, you'll be in trouble fast LOL.

Thanks guys! The bigger one is probably about 3.5 inches and the smaller guy is a bit more than 3, I am looking forward to witnessing first hand how fast they grow.

And I do have to keep an eye on that begging, I feel so bad when I walk by and don't feed them, but I know they aren't starving, but they just look so cute and pathetic...

Good looking oscars.

Dont be surprised if u start seeing agression between them once they get abit more comfy...mine go thru spells.. with my smaller one now being the more aggressive of the 2. They sometimes loose some scales but no serious damage so I just leave them be.

Yeah they have already had a few tumbles. The little guy started out as being the aggressor but the big guy got hungry and now he tries to chase the little guy from the food, every morning I see some scales missing, but they seem to heal up in a day or so.

I love oscars they are great but like german shepards they get to be life life long pals once one dies or is removed from tank for me the other will just die from separation. Everytime this has happened and at that time they are too big to find another.I have had a few and some day will have another big tank for fresh water fish and i'm thinkin oscars for sure. Great fish with personality.

Bringing this back up, just an small update. It's been about 5 months and my little guys have gotten quite big, they are about 7 inches long now. They are also both very camera shy, but I got the best pics I could.

Here is the "big guy", picture was taken at a odd angle.

And the "small guy"
