The tank is doing great, 3 weeks and its completely cycled because of the 46lbs. of live rock. I just have the Blue Devil Damsel so far, his name is Smurf. I just have a lot of algae growth already. I am getting snails, crabs, and shrimp tomorrow, but is this much algae normal in SW tanks? Thanks!
Nope, I am not making a reef tank, fish only. I am gonna get a pair of clowns and a coral beauty dwarf angel. I am also getting snails, hermits, pep. shrimp, and emerald crabs. I will post more pics when I have more fish.
what algae? lol you haven't seen algae yet...your tank looks clean. make sure you never treat that tank with any copper based substances. all of your live rock and substrate will be ruined, your angel fish will die and so will all of your inverts.
just a warning about the substrate...silica based substrate causes massive algae outbreaks, so make sure there's none of that in there.
and also watch out for those emerald crabs. don't be surprised if you wake up and find dead fish because of them.
other than that, welcome to the world of saltwater!
