my new tank

im getting a 55 gallon tall rectangle. it has the filters, lights, and sump built into the lid and it has 20 pounds of rock already in it. it has all sorts of plants and some big rocks for fish to hide in now the ? is what fish do i get?

Freshwater or Saltwater? I only ask because you say you have 20 lbs of rock in it already.

If freshwater...what kind of tank do you want? A tall tank is good for angels, and you could also have a school or two of some type of fish. Just make sure you read the beginners forum sticky notes on cycling a fish tank.

hmmm... why dont you just go to the LFS look at some fish, write down the ones you like and then do research on them to see if they would work in your tank? what do you mean a sump built into the lid? also, what are the dimensions? ive never heard of a non standard 55 gal. before.

Good suggestion. Is it Freshwater? I would say African Cichlids or a Rainbow school. Also on African Cichlids I woulds say Yellow labs.
