So I finally got some time tonight to take a few pictures of my oto.

I always liked mine. I don't have any at the moment but it is because they disappeared. I suspect my knife fish but I have no proof.

i bought two a while back and i found them dead the morning after i put them in. they were really cool for the couple hours i had them though...

mm i love otos, thier crazy little critters. mine seem to enjoy being yelled at though, meaning as they dont do anything but play follow-the-leader.

anyways hes a cutie! the little guys are soo cute with thier little fat bellies!

cute and pretty big at least compared to mine hehe. I got gave my guy to my bf cause he was picking on my cory fish and i mean litterally picking at him. Poor cory the skin of his head is almost peeled off. Did a tank clean up and put salt to heal cory. I miss my little oto already and i just gave him away this morning. They are so entertaining and good little workers hehe.

Ya nice fish.I have one that does a great job at cleaning the tank.He's fun to watch too because he swims so fast.Some times he swims so fast i cant hardly keep track of him!

Do Otos need to be in groups? or is it ok with just 1 in a 10gal?

yay he's a cutie i don't have one in my tank (i have a rubber lip plec instead) but the one in my sister's 10 g did a MEAN job on her algae... she had a lot.

and chan, i think they are fine by themselves. at least, the one in my sister's tank doesn't seem to mind!

Yep that is my Oto.
One in a 10g is great, he is doing fine in my 30g also.

How long before you can stick an oto in a new tank....weeks/months???

There isn't a real "time frame" mostly just its a good idea to wait until you have something for them to eat (algae), since they're kind of finicky eaters.

I put mine in after having the aquarium set up for 4 days without Fishless cycling, and it is chubby, and happy as you can see. I drop in Shrimp pellets once in a while for him.

i know they are said to be sensitive sometimes, but the one in my sister's 10 gallon has lived through some pretty rough conditions.. and he is just chubby as can be!

i put one in my (other) sister's goldie tank today.. the girl at the lfs, who is semi-knowledgeable, said it would be fine. as far as you know is this true? [i mean because it is a coldwater tank, obviously.. ]
