Last week my 4 year old pleco stopped eating and so, no more streamers. He seems perfectly healthy otherwise, but a bit nonresponsive. He is 13" long in a 30 gallon square tank. Tank mates are 9 tetras of differnt varieties.

He was a voracious eater until about 3 months ago when I started giving him the algae tablets for the first time. (Didn't know about them before that).

His skin is healthy, his response is quick if your approach him, his eyes open and close normally. He just stopped eating and expiating. I am worried.

Any clues about what is wrong and what can be done?

Thanks.

yes it is. if you can, try to see if you could get a bigger setup for it, because its not done growing yet. my cousin put his 16 inch pleco in a 200 gal kiddie pool(bought two and uses the other one as a cover, whenever hes not looking at him:D) and that seemed to do the trick. the pleco was happy and grew 1 or 2 more inches.

Ive had my pleco about 6 mo or so. It hides under a piece of driftwood. I never see it out, except sometimes at like 3 am, if i wake up to piss, i look and it is out. At other tanks ive seen, the plecos are much more active. Is this just my pleco's personality?
