My poor betta...

#1
the drama continues... :(

So I'd hate to just wait it out to see if things get any worse, but my betta seems to not have fin rot (*yay*), and that white discoloration on his right side isn't getting any worse, either...and it doesn't look alarming to me...what I DID notice this morning, however, (and maybe it's nothing), but he's got this white mini-hard-to-see clear fuzzy thing that's attached to the left side of his head. Maybe it's just a fuzzy (and nothing more), but I'm worried. It's not a classic sign of anything that I've read before...I wish the poor little guy could talk to me.

Does this sound familiar to anybody? If not I'll try to take a picture of him tonight and post it...

Thanks again for all your help

Thank you so much! - I'll start treating him right away. Now...he's in a 10 gal with 5 neon tetras and 2 platties...will the medicine effect the others, or is it wise to treat them, too? Or what happens if one fish isn't infected at all, but I still treat the tank with it - would that hurt them?

My poor fishies *SICK*

Check the package on the meds. Sometimes you need to use half-dose for tetras. It's more likely a bacterial infection (fungal infections are rarer in aquariums), but most of the meds treat both fairly well. Just make sure the symptoms on the bottle roughly match those that your betta has.
