didnt use a protector valve thingy so water got sucked in the pump and burnt it out.........bah

1st question.......i dont have a receipt but i did use a method that rena advises , on the pump instructions..... that if you are placing the pump below the tank itself , then to loop the airline tubing , at the point of entry into the tank , then this will ensure that the water wont get sucked into the pump! so shall i bring it back to the shop 4 replacement itself?

or shall I try and get the replacement from rena themselves?

Now, considering this shouldnt have happened , or wouldnt have if i'd used a return valve , I am very reluctant in paying full whack for another pump so does anyone know of any cheap alternatives, makes or even DIY project s?

Then there is the question of getting enuff o2 in the tank now my pump has gone but ill save that for a new thread!!!!

I had a similar problem with one of my rena air pumps….It would stop working every once in a while…I figured out that pressing down on the air pump and hitting it a few times will often jump start it…give it a try and good luck

If you don't have an air powered filter you'll be ok.If you want more aeration put the water outlet high so it disturb the water surface.Providing your not overstocked that should be enough.
