My seven year-old's betta stopped eating last week and now he seems to have a whitish film on his back. His fins are clumped and he is pretty lethargic. He's not new to us: we've had him in a 1 gallon bowl for a year and a half eating pellets with no problems.

Two days ago pet store clerk gave us bloodworms and an antibiotic pill to split in thirds to dissolve in the water, but the white film is increasing and he won't eat the bloodworms either. I wonder if he has a fungus. There are so many products out there, I don't know where to start. I'm worried his fast may turn to starvation soon.

Any wisdom??

Thanks
