Hello. I put 6 in my 29 gal. on Sat. to go along with 1 blue gourami and 2 spotted cory. Within 24 hrs some developed symptoms much like shimmy? They are shaking but are not swimming around. One died yesterday and I believe others will also because they are showing the same symptoms. They have no appetite. I tested my water on Sat. Ph 7.4 Amm 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 10. Water temp 78. My tank is approximately 3 months old. I do partial water changes(25%) weekly. I have plastic plants only. Any suggestions?

Are your fish showing these symptoms?

Fish remain near the surface.
Labored breathing.
Gills are opened wide, and gill membranes appear very red

Actually fish are near bottom corner huddled together with there heads facing down. Don't see any distinguishing marks on them. I have a 14 day period to return any dead fish.

Shimmy is not actually a disease, but a stress-related symptom caused by poor aquarium conditions or the onset of a disease.

It is highly likley that they were ill in your LFS.

Try some stress zyme or take them back as "faulty" lol

How long have you had this tank set up? Adding 6 tigers could have caused an ammonia spike, even if your tank is cycled. Have you measured your nitrites and ammonia?
We have already been told the water parameters: Amm 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 10.

That normally shows the cycle has finished. (if it was done properly and fully)
