I recently moved my female betta into a smaller aquarium that has a filter. The next day when I examined her under light I notice she has very fine holes in her fins.

I am shocked, she has been acting normal, and my other betta fish is fine with the same water. It doesn't seem like fin rot because the tips of her fins aren't effected, instead it looks like someone poked a bunch of round holes in her fins. :( I've had this fish for 2 years and I really don't want to lose her, can anyone help me diagnose this illness?

I wouldn't worry too much unless they start to get bigger or the tips of the fins start degrading. I assume they're similar in size to pinholes? If so, I've noticed that if you look really closely under bright lighting, a lot of bettas seem to have a few of those. I think it might just be old tears or imperfections in the fins.

Keep an eye out on it first, and let us know if it starts to get worse, or if I'm assuming the holes are smaller than they are!:)
