Mystery Snail

I'm thinking about getting some black mystery snails for my 29 gal tank. Is there a minimum amount I should consider? Another way of looking at this, how many is too much?

just get 1 they breed like nothing on earth (exept snails) and they dont have sexes they are all its so any 2 will breed together if they find each other

No, there are male and female mystery snails...they are not hermaphrodites.

they say 1 per 2-3 gallons. i would say maybe 5 and youd be fine

and they will keep your pesk snails to a min. they eat them!

of course! you should get colorful ones too
i have a black and gold and the only one i can ever spot is the gold.

Mystery snails aren't like pond snails. They won't breed unless you set up a tank for breeding as they lay their eggs out of water. These come in purple, blue, albino, striped, black, and others. I have several in different colors. They are great scavengers and very entertaining to watch. I would recommend to anyone. Make sure you keep them with fish that won't be picking or nipping at them. And also make sure they have food to eat. I'll drop an algae tablet in the tank once or twice a week.

you should really check out this site if you are serious about them!it's the best site i've found and it's really indepth. if you don't want them to breed make sure you have all one sex.
