is it just me or is it hard to keep a mystery snail alive in a tank? they seem to live for about 3 weeks then they just close up and die, i feed them algae pellets and they will eat them but then they will just stop all of a sudden right before they die. any help would be great! i just need something that eats algae and wont be attacked in a tank with a red tail shark and 6 tiger barbs. I am finding it hard to keep a pleco alive as well, i feed it the same algae pellets that i feed the snail, i cant tell if it is something that i am doing wrong or its just bad luck, but all of my other fish are very healthy

How large is your tank?
How often did you feed the snail? Did you feed at night or during the day? Feeding at night is much better. It reduces the chance that other fish will eat the snail's food. Mystery snails are normally very hardy if given clean water. What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? Did any holes or white lines appear on the shell before he died?
