need help picking

I have a really big tank and only have 2 Asain gars a oscar and a shovel nose catfish. They are all new about 4 weeks. I got them to replace my clown knifefish which died. does any one else have any ideas on what preadetor i can put in it. Maybe a texas or a parrot. Oh ya it is a 300 gallon whith a temp of 77 degrees

You could get a parrot, or a texas, I dont see anything wrong with that..I prefer texas cichlids myself..you will be told not to get parrots on this site because they are dyed and hybrid, and I agree myself, just not as strongly as others on this site.

i have never done ciclids before but yesturday i saw A jaguar ciclid. I forget the other name but the fish is blue with black stripes and a white hump. oh ya i also saw a cool giant gourmi. Do u think these fish will be ok and does any one know what kind of fish it is.

I have a texas - a parrot - and an oscar

the parrot and the oscar get on really well - the (my) texas is a serial killer, and won't tolerate either of the other two (or anything else for that matter)

The fish you described sounds like a frontosa which probably isnæt ideal for you. They prefer very hard alkaline water and generally donæt do much either.
A good sized jag might work for you, though it might well kill everything else in the tank. Big pike cichlid , Crenicichla sp.?

thanks for the info i got the jag.he is really cool and tries to bite me. was 59.99 dollars a good price for a big one.
