Need New Hood for 29 Gallon

I bought my tank used, was told it was a 30 gallon! Turns out it's a 29 gallon. It needs a new hood. It's the standard all glass kind. Can someone suggest the best place to get one? I'd also like to upgrade the lighting, but know very little about different types of lighting and so forth. Suggestions?

Well, I'm not sure what stores are in your area, but usually there is a PetSmart or Petco nearby. Online is always an option, eBay or Drs. Foster & Smith to name a couple.

The hood for a 20 Long is the same dimensions as your 29g also (I think the 37 tall too). You could buy just a glass hinged top (around $15-20) and then get the lighting strip of your choice, or buy the all in one complete set tops (around $35-45). I've seen them in black or "wood grain" depending on your tanks trim.

As far as lighting goes, it really depends on whether or not your going to go planted.
