I've read a few sites saying that Blue Acara's are very peaceful if there is only ONE! Does this mean that if their is only one then they can be kept with smaller fish?(in a community tank?). If their is only one, do they get along with smaller cichlids like Keyhole's?

It has been done. Of course i would recommend a larger tank (just incase) to make this work. It really depends on the fish....some are more aggressive than the others, its their own personality. They would prob. do better in a setup like this if they are grown with the other fish in a larger tank. But yes it can happen.

I've got a group of 4 Blue Acara in a 55 together with 3 small yellow severums, an Oscar, and a Sailfin Pleco. The tank couldn't be more peacefull.
The Acara came out of my other mixed 55 where they were constantly hassled into the plants by the other bigger, more aggresive fish. Now they're somewhere less hectic, it's a pleasure to see them out and about.

I'd say treat what you have read with a pinch of salt. There will always be individual behaviour from fish to fish, but I really don't think Acara are as aggressive as they seem to be in print.
