Needing Ph help.

Hi folks,
I Need some help here. I have set up a 4ft tank 3 weeks before christmas. I have lost 3 Large Angel fish and 2 Large Clown Loaches. I have bought a test kit and it seems the reason I have lost them is the Ph in the water is through the roof.
I have bought loads of Ph down things and none have worked. Two days ago I bought some bogwood and put it in. Will this work and if so how long will it take? I want to put more fish in my tank but not until I have this problem sorted.

test the water out of your tap.... and what is "through the roof"... we need more information.. what type of decorations /substrate is there in there... also testing teh hardness of the water would be helpful... also test ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate which are more likely suspects for a newer tank...

I agree with UL, we need a little more info. I can tell you that bogwood doesn't lower Ph very much at all, but thats about it at this point.
