Neglected tank maintenance help!

*SICK*So I went back to work and had neglected my tank some...I came home today and there was a lot of little worm looking things on the glass like crawling around. It was so gross but i don't know what they are or what to do...also have a rust colored growth on the side glass. what is going on....HELP HELP Please!!!!!!*SICK*

I forget the proper name of the worms, but it's likely they are harmless and just appeared in large enough numbers due to extra uneaten food in the tank. Regular maintenance and not feeding to much will help keep numbers in check. And the rust colored growth is probably just a type of red algae. If it wipes off pretty easy I'd say that's what it is.

I did a water change and trimmed plants. I rinsed the ornaments. The stuff on the glass that was red was hard to wipe off.
