I tried to get a picture of the problem but the little witch was terrified of the camera and wouldn't stay where I wanted her. I now have a total of 7 neon dwarf rainbows in the tank (with a school of small cories) and no other fish. There are 2 males and 5 females. I just purchased four of the females yesterday (and no I didn't QT them because I'm dumb). One of the females has a spot on her body, just one spot on the body directly in front of the tail. It isn't ick. I don't know quite how to describe it except in human terms. If any of you are in health care, it looks like an ulcer. Round, slightly depressed from the surface of the body, completely white (like tissue). None of the other fish are harassing her, she isn't isolating herself from the group (she hides behind them when she sees the camera!). One of my friends told me to treat with melafix but, I don't want to just go ahead and start dumping stuff in the tank without knowing what I'm doing. So - advice please! I went to the disease section and tried to find out what it was for sure but there is more than one thing that it COULD be. I just don't want to start treating blindly because I could just make things worse.
On hand, I have melafix and the jungle brand fizzy fungus tabs (never had any reason to use them before - been lucky until now). Will either of those work or would you recommend something else?
