hey guys, santa was good to me, my parents rather, and got me a 46 gallon bowfront with a stand for christmas! seeing as i have moved from freshwater, and am currently on brackish, I think that this tank is going to be my first attempt at saltwater. i'd like it to eventually be a reef tank, so i was wondering what i am going to need for this bad boy.

as of now i have:
tank
stand
hood with flourescent lights

i've got alot of money in the bank too, so most i'm not worried about spending money...well, not ridiculous amounts, you know. i know i'm goin to need a lighting upgrade for corals, but other than that i don't know if i need a filter or not, and all that other good stuff. thanks in advance.

check out the stickies they are a great help.. you won't need a "filter" as SW uses Live Rock (LR) as our filters.. heres a list of some stuff that you will probably end up getting

Sand
Live Rock - 1 1/2 lbs per gallon
Protein Skimmer
MH Lighting
Sump
Pump(s)
thats just a basic list im sure theres more im missing.. good luck and take alot of pics as you go
