So I have my new 90g tank here and can't wait to get started. I definitely want to do an New World cichlid tank. Any suggestions on what I could get that would be compatible with what I already have? I would really like a Green Terror & maybe a manganese (jaguar) cichlid.

What I have currently:
29g tank
(1) Jack Dempsey - 8"
(1) Blue Cobalt Cichlid - 6"
(1) all orange african cichlid - 6"
(1) Red Jewel Cichlid - 4"
(5) Tiger Barbs
(1) Red Ruby Barb
(2) Plecostamus - 6" & 3" (growing fast)

I plan to transfer everything I have over to the 90g. I'm a little worried about the africans that I have now though. They don't mess with the jd but I'm worried they may attack newcomers. They're sooo aggressive. The blue cobalt has killed: (1) blue cobalt same size, (1) yellow lab same size, (3) firemouths, (2) small jd, (1) green severum, (1) clown knife 6" and probably a few others I can't think of right now. Will the africans settle down if they become outnumbered in the tank by more NW cichlids?

Well....its amazing that nothing has killed anything in that 29gal yet. Wow overstocked.

New world...hmm. Keep the JD, take all the african cichlids back, keep the pleco (if you want), take the barbs back, and add something else like a green terror, or convicts, or possibly a Jag?

The problem with a 90 is, as I recall it doesn't have a lot more floorspace than a 55. If you take the african back you'll be ok, but I'm sot sure of much else you can add - maybe some firemouths or a salvini, or a pair of something else in the 6 inch range. The managuense is right out -eventually it will kill everything else in the tank.
