Okay I want to know if I could get maybe a betta for my tank. The readings came up low and so I want to know. Here are the readings I got:

ammonia: 0-.25 ppm
nitrIte:.25-.5 ppm
nitrAte:5 ppm

Would it be safe to pt in a betta. My friend is having a thing of a space issue and he needs to give his betta away. He will go into my 10g wit the Black Widow Tetras.

Also I want to know if I can plant a Purple Waffle outside of water since I found out it wasn't an aquatic plant? Thanx

Another question is if I leave the plant in the tank will it make make my water funky.

All the plant will do is rot, die, and then pollute your tank. Get rid of it, though it may survive for a few months.

Your have both measurable ammonia and nitrites, so the answer is NO you should not add another fish for the time being. Patience!
