Those look like the ones I saw at my lfs over the weekend! At the time I thought, dang, I wish I had a tank big enough for a couple of those. They were labeled as "wild caught red shouldered fluorescent severums", and they said that they came in one of the shipments from Peru. Whatever they are, they look great :)

Nice new additions! I think the severum is just a regular green severum female? I dont see any squggles around the face so I'm going to assume its female (allthough this is never a full-proof way of telling sexes apart...)
Oh, and also, I love how the gold severum pokes her little head in a few of the pics :D I'd love to see pics of her too :D

Thanks :D Katie I dont think that the new Serverum is a Green. The Red Shouldered Fluorescent Severum sounds right, at least by pics. There are more blue lines coming in around his face. Im thinking that it might be a male, I hope so :p

Looks good. Acaras are nice, don't hear of as many people keeping them as of late.

Oh and i'd call it a normal green severum as well. The "Red Shouldered Fluorescent Severum" i've never heard of in my life..my money is the name is from a breeder/wholesaler who is trying to spice things up, happens with discus thats why there are like 5 names for each strain.

OK, so when I come get one of Sandy's kittens, I am taking all these guys home with me! :D

How did you find Blue Acaras? I have been trying to find them forever! That Sev is nice too... he'd be the perfect ruler of my 150gal! ;)

I'd say female, if it was a male you should be able to tell at the size it is.

If you need to call it anything, I'd call it a green severum, but in all reality, its likely a mix of a few varients. Happens quite often in LFS fish. But, greens can vary quite a bit in appearance as well, so you never know.

Those are some pretty sweet additions you got there, Jess.
And I see in your sig. that a 180 gal. tank is on the way at some point too? Good stuff. *thumbsups
