I recently purchased a 24g aqua pod, two weeks after setting up with salt water and sand, I purchased live rock and began to cycle. After about two weeks the red algae took over. I didn't realize what was happening until I went to a local fish store and began the water changes and chemicals. I am finally on top of the algae problem and would like to know what I need to do keep it that way. I would like to stalk with snails and crab and I am not sure what I need to buy. Also what about a protein skimmer in such a small tank, do I need one? Sorry if sound like I don't know what I am talking about, there is a reason its because a I don't.
