I just bought a new plexiglass tank. It was used for other animals, but should be fine for fish.

I need some help thought. Its a hexagon, that is 4ft by 4 ft and 18 inches deep. If I did my math corrects that should be about a 180 gallon tank, is that correct ? *twirlysmiley*

My other problem is the thickness, its a 1/4 thick, very sturdy too. I'm trying to find out if I would have any issues on the tank, staying toghter.

Trying to find out how much weight that is on the sides of the tank, and also, how much weight that would be on the floor.  I thought I read something about 8.5 lbs per gallon, if correct that would be 1,530 lbs.

Can someone give me a hand, not sure on the math and the conversions. Is the 1/4 plex going to hold the weight of the water, or will it bow out, or just plain, not hold that volume of water.

Thanks,
