I got one of the red sea kits with the palm filter, the flourscent light, and the 50 watt heater from my original tank. The water is at the right temperature, but i am not sure if i should still keep it in. I think its about 1 gallon, I just got a male betta and put him right in. Anyone have any suggestions on keeping him in the best environment. Thank you guys. I got a lid on it already it tried to jump once.

80-82 is rather high, I'd aim for 75-78. 80+ is used for curing diseases and spawning usually. If you've got a heater, filter, and light, I'd upgrade the bowl from a 1 gallon to a 2-5 gallon tank. The 50 watt heater is way to big for a 1 gallon bowl in my opinion, but you said it was at the right temp, so I guess that's good.
