well i finaly got my new canister filter.i ordered a via aqua 750.so far it's been running for about a week and i like it.it looks very similar to the ehiem professionale series of filters in design except no self priming pump.i chose the via aqua for the high flow rate 316 gph.and it only cost 70 bucks from bigal's.my only complaint was it didn't really come with any media.overall so far itr seems to be a great low cost alternitave to the ehiem filters.as time progresses i will post any updates here

See if it's still oging in 10 years time - that's what you pay for. I've made the mistake at the moment of using cheap internals, and they last for a year before going a.w.o.l.

that's very true wayne,but at the same time my emperor 400 is the only thing i have had fail and that was supposed to be a real good peice of equipment.so far my via aqua filter is silent.

things are gettin more and more similar everyday...so you can get the same quality of work for less prices except u loose out on some features. ITs very common these days, unles ur goin for something specific, u wont really notice the difference
