New catfish dead ??

I bought 3 catfish... cory's... called something like malenistius...i didn't get that right but you get the idea. Anyway, one died like hours after putting it in the tank..??? Are they really that sensitive to stress? I thought cory's were fairly hardy. These ones were fairly big too.

Nitrites were zero. Ammonia zero. Nitrates 10.

The only thing a bit off was the temp... a little warm at 84 but nothing extreme. I just love the cory's and i hate to see one die.

u can probably take it back to the store.

how long did u let them float on the water?

i let mine float for like 20 minutes, then i add a little water from my tank for a period till an hour later then i release them into my tank i havent had one die yet, i have 4 of them...

I let them float for 30min. Have never tried adding water from my tank. I will do that from now on.

yea i do it that way to help them get used to the water. especially for my tetras who are very delicate.
