New cories!

I know that I've been making a lot of threda about my new fish so, if you're bored with me just let me know but, hey, fish are my life!
O.K, so, anyway, last Sunday I got the three cutest bronze cories the world has ever seen! They really seem to love my tank and, along with my snail, they are really doing a good job of keeping my tank clean. They don't really shoal like the books say they will but they do hang out from time to time. I'm kinda worried about the littlest one, though. He's almost always of in one corner of the tank while the others are in another corner. Is this natural behavior or is he kinda an outcast?

My Triline tends to hide at the back until its feeding time.The false sae I have bullies him a bit when he comes out,but as soon as all the foods gone he looses interest in that.
Have you got any other Cories with these 3?I think maybe if you had 5-6 they would shoal.

Hey Sandtiger - i'm REALLY interested in getting a corie! Are they Okay with other fish? - I've heard they are not agressive! but an owners opinion is better to know - than some 'facts' from a website!

Yeah.They are really nice peaceful fish.Very hardy and easy to look after and there is lots of variety in the species.They don't get too big either.

Yew, TLH, I do have other cories, well, corie! They seemed really tight in the store, hanging out together, but now, only three of them hang out.

What is the plural anyway?Is it Corii,Corydorii,Corydoras or Corydorases?
Plump for Corydoras myself.

Well, I can tell you their great!!! Their smart, cute, versitile, intresting to watch, bullet-proof,everything!!! *SUPERSMIL The only thing against them would be their sharp dorsal and pectoral spines, those can get tangled in standered fish nets and can give you a very painful jab.

I took TLH's advice and got two other cories. One of the two is huge, at least twice the size of the others. I think he (or she) appointed himself their leader. (I'll call it a he, taking over seems more like a guy thing.) Since I can tell him apart, I want to name him, I can't decide between Atenhaken (a very dictator-like pharorh) and Ceser. Does aneyone else got any good names?

Names for a leader?Hmmm.I wouldn't call him Tony Blair or George Bush.With names like Atenhaken and Caeser I'm thinking your wanting ancient historical right?Ghengis Khan,Temujin,General Grant,Custer or something like that.
I'm thinking about a couple more myself.They had some rather nice Sterbi's down the lfs last time I went.Bit pricey tho'.I just lost my Zebra Loach so I'd like to replace him with something or other.He jumped out of the tank while I was cleaning it.

If it was a small cory that took over you could call him napolean. Hmmm, I have to think about it.

Actually, I mostly want dictators, but historical works, too! And no, he's not small, he's enormous! At least twice the size of the others!

Actually, they all died about a mont ago. Sorry I didn't tell you sooner. But I got a pleco, so I'm O.K now.

I only use white nets for all my catfish. They are a finer mesh and doesn`t snag cats. Cories do best in groups of 5 or more.

yep one of my loaches did a jump. Their always hidding so I never see em all at the same time. I never saw or heard him jump, must have found his little dried up body in a box under the tank months later. Poor guy!
