i was at my lfs yeasterday and saw a 8" male JD so picked him up. I divided the tank with egg creat for 5 hour and the RD , JD showed no signs or aggression so i removed the divider, the JD was the aggressor and would chase the RD , nothing serious or any thing that worried me, at some point in the night they settled thre dispute and the JD got a ripped lip now there inseprateable.

oh how do you tell the difference between an Rd male and an Rd female???

i dont want them too cross breed, theres too many mutants out there now, plus im not sure if the eggs would even hatch.

to tell the difference from male and female RD, you can look at the nuchal hump males are bigger, the amles fins are more pointed and the females rounded, and the vent is more round in the female and pointed in the male, and if the female is going too lay eggs you can se the egg dipositor
