high there y'all...long time no post...
for those that remember me...HELLO... :)
[i've been lurking on the side...]

no time to join in as our one year old...
is a FULL TIME JOB ... :):)

thing is...got a spare 3 gallon [imperial] tank...
and i want to house a betta in it...
got a heater...no got filtration...is that ok ... ???

i'm happy to do big water changes...
[sheeesh...100% is only 3 galls...no worries...:):):)]...

2nd question...can i keep a male and a female together...
i see that the sticky says i can't...
guy in the lfs says i can...is he stooopid...
[can't be for the money...less than one gb pound...]...

please let me know your thoughts...
as i would like to get it sorted tomorrow...

Yes, it would be OK without a filter, as long as you do the water changes.

No, definitely no keeping male and female together in a tank. The only time you put them together is for a few hours when they spawn, even then, one may kill the other if they're not "ready." Yes, the guy at the LFS is stoopid.

i feel a little sad that the male will be on his own...
'tho i know that's his natural state...
any little fish [for company] that could handle no filter...???
me no like snails or frogs... :)

My-my it's been a long time. Ive heard that you can sometimes get away with some guppies...I actually had a betta in a community tank a few years back, and he did great. It just kinda depends on the individual betta's temperament..

Good to have you back in the water ;)
