Well, after changing the water today, I sat down to watch my lil boys play, and I noticed a couple things. First off, the ottos have unnaturally pink lungs. The pink area is much darker than usual and in a larger area than usual.

As well, though, I noticed two of my Albino Cory's looked different from the third. Basically, they were paler than usual(which I noticed on another one of them before he died a while back), and they both have a slightly bulging belly, right between the pelvic fins. I've isolated them to watch them further and see what they do. Hopefully they won't die.

Anybody got any clues as to what this might be?

As always, tank parameters are all normal, especially since I just changed the water. I have noticed that if one goes, he usually goes after the water change. I always add stress coat in the right amounts, as well as a pH 7.0 buffer as well, so it shouldn't be a prollem w/ Chlorine. The water temp coming in is about the same, so it shouldn't be that either. I thought maybe the inrushing water was coming in too fast, so today I tried to remedy that by running the water into a cup first so the cup would contain the current.

Ok, I'm confused by your setups, you have a heated 30g with goldfish and comets that is overstocked and your adding salt and ph 7.0 buffer to it.

Your 10g has a betta and 4 cories plus 2 ottos and your also adding ph 7.0 buffer to that. And why do you have a betta with cories?

What are the readings from your tap water? and why do you feel the need to chemically mess with your ph?

I may differ with some people on this, but StressCoat is not a good water conditioner. Try something like Tap Water Conditioner from Aquarium Pharmaceuticals.

And you should really reconsider your tank stocking procedures.

Sorry, nix the salt in the goldie tank. The betta is quite happy w/ the corys and leaves them alone, so I haven't seen any real trouble out of that. I use the buffer because my pH crashes randomly if I don't, even w/ my usual water changes. The tap water is actually OK as far as ammo is concerned, and the hardness is normal as well.

so, any ideas on the cory problems, as opposed to the goldies being over stocked ;)
