I have a 29 gallon freshwater tank with:

4 plastic plants
5 black phantom tetras
1 aneglicus botia loach

I'm ready to order the following today:

Current USA Nova Extreme T5 X2 Aquarium Lighting Fixture, 2X24 Watt, 30 inch Freshwater

I know there's a fan for cooling on there.

I'm asking other owners of these units for feedback on the amount of noise it makes? *DRUMMER*

Thanks,

UA

A friend has one in her son's bedroom, and said its very quiet. She has it set up on timers so that one light is on initially, then both with the fan running, then one light again. No one is sleeping in the room when the fan is running, but she says she doesn't notice it on at all when she's in there gathering laundry/etc (you know how teenagers can be!).

I have the Coralife Aqualight myself that can hold two 65watt bulbs. I have two 55watts over 29gallons but only use one most of the time.

I just order the same one from Dr.'s (Sunday). A lot of people posted that it was noisy though. I'd like to know what you think when you get it. Most of the people wrote on the site that they had to replace the fan, we'll see I guess.
